On US Highway 54 near Vaughn, New Mexico, four people were killed in a single vehicle accident occurring around 12:30 PM on Saturday. All four were from Chicago and related to each other. There were six passengers in the vehicle, plus the driver. New Mexico State Police believe that the vehicle crossed the centerline and the driver swerved back into the correct lane but lost control and the vehicle went into a roll. Police said that all passengers were ejected from the vehicle except for the driver who was the only person wearing a seatbelt. Two passengers and the driver survived. The other four passengers were pronounced dead at the scene in Guadalupe County, New Mexico. Police identified these individuals as Francisco Salazar (41), Daniel Salazar (17), Natalie Salazar (10), and Ramon Morales (69).
Last week a fatal Jal pickup truck crash involving a semi tractor trailer resulted in the death of 5 Texas residents. Four oilfield workers were in the pickup truck which crossed the centerline and struck the tractor trailer head on in what became a horrific New Mexico trucking accident. The 18 wheeler wreck occurred on New Mexico State Route 128 east of Jal, New Mexico and about 195 miles east of El Paso, Texas.
New Mexico State Police are reporting five deaths in a horrific Fatal Jal pickup crash involving a tractor trailer in southeast, NM. The crash occurred on Thursday morning, July 11, 2019 when the pickup truck crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming semi tractor trailer. All four occupants in the pickup truck were killed and the driver of the semi tractor trailer also died. Both vehicles caught in fire after the crash.
New Mexico State Police report that a Cuervo, NM auto accident killed Mary Lee Kelley, 63, of St. Louis, Missouri. The crash occurred last week on I-40 just east of Cuervo, New Mexico.

Fatal Melrose NM Trucking Accident Involving Three Tractor Trailers
News sources are reporting a fatal tractor trailer crash in Melrose, NM which occurred on June 9, 2019. Richard Joseph, a 45 year old man from Tijeras, was killed in a three-tractor trailer crash just west of Melrose, New Mexico. The trucking crash occurred just before 5:30 AM. New Mexico state police indicated that the Mr. Joseph's 2000 Kenworth tractor trailer was traveling east on US 60. This tractor trailer crossed the centerline into the westbound lane and struck a 2017 Kenworth and a 1987 Peterbilt tractor trailer. Richard Jospeh was declared deceased at the scene of the tractor trailer crash. There is limited information regarding this trucking crash at this time. The only other information is that the other truck drivers did not initially report injuries.
